Artist's Comments

A gerridi in one of the numerous marsh of Felarya.

Gerridis are often seen as cousins of dridders, though they don't have an arachnid body.
They possess six very long and thin legs, each of which is covered in a liquid that allows them to walk on the surface of water, much like a water strider. They are extremely fast and agile when on water, able to silently travel over large expanses of still water faster than a jet ski.

Gerridis do not generally get along well with their half arachnid cousins, as they are far more interested in music, dancing, and arts than honing their fighting skills. They always avoid fighting whenever possible, as their body is not well suited to it. Gerridis possess a slender and fragile frame, with delicate features that are closer to fairy's than a dridder's. They are generally about twelve feet high.

Part of a serie I'm making to explore different little-known aspects of Felarya ^_^

Critiques

:iconmelancholy-melody13:
WOW, very lovely karbo, and I like this idea of exploring lesser known species of Felarya.

as for critque only a few things are bugging me, one would be how she blends in with her backround, she doesnt XD I mean to an extent but I just think she needs tobe obscured alittle by the fog around there, it makes more sense.

the other thing would be her legs, now I understand them being thin but they look alot too thin for her size, I know shes only 12ft or so but still alittle more thickness would look more realistic.

Overall I really love this peice, regardless of a few little nitpicks, the backround is lovely, has a very swampy mysterious feel to it and the Gerridis looks positively stunning, nice to see something you draw clothed XD

I can't wait to see more of these kinda pictures.

Very nice.

Is this race in the Wiki? I don't remember seeing it there.

Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.

What did I do to deserve th- Oh yeah...
:iconotseis-ragnarok:
Very nice. Not sure I like the overtly cutesy approach for this kind of character, though.

donuts in the middle of a room full of people trying out for leadership in band..... Not a good combination (actually happened we all thought it was a test of some sort)

She's one sexy-lookin' half insect. Maybe her music would lure bug maniacs as prey?

Kaze + Soul = SoulShipping
Kaze + Lizabeth = DeepWaterShipping (thanks to Mat for suggesting it)

This is quite cute, I vaguely remember seeing this in the wiki but I had no idea what they looked like.
