Gentle creek speed painting by Karbo Gentle creek speed painting by Karbo
Annnd the Speed painting serie starts now ! :D
Let's see if i manage to keep this up for at least 3 weeks ^^
So we start with a landscape. Yes it's not especially impressive ^^; but then again the goal is to paint quick and once I'm at the end of that session I should have made some progress :3

For a speedpaint, it's pretty precise and well-detailed so it's not unimpressive at all :)

The point of view is interesting.
For a change you're in the role of a predator this time,at least it gives this feeling to me.
Maybe this river will become the personal styx of this two men.

I love how humble you are with this. "It's not especially impressive", yet, it's by far the best one of the speed paintings so far in my opinion!

Just calling out good work when I see it, also what you said in your earlier journals about working with things your not always comfortable with has defiantly inspired me to continue with even the more frustrating parts of drawing, automobiles and any form of architecture are always a pain TT_TT.

Love this. Great foreground and mid-ground. Would be nice to see a little more sky through the trees. Great colour. Humanish subjects not needed. Look forward to more of you work.

well you can certainly tell what's what, which is good. then again, considering your high skill level already that should have been expected. It looks like just a lot of basic colors organized in the right pattern. Now there's a tree in the back however, which seems like you used fine dots for it...that is a very well done tree :D

wish I could properly critique you though. I've never tried a speed painting, and even then it sounds like the goal is just to get something out quick, with as much high quality as possible so in that regard you're doing quite well :D

Very well done for a first attempt. A good amount of detail was put into the foliage to give it nice scale and depth, I really like the shading on the vines and the mangrove tree, gives it nice contrast between the bright open river in the background and the scary dark jungle in the foreground. Nicely done:D

Very nice, especially for such a speedy work.  I like the cool, secluded feeling of all that overhanging foliage.

Good luck with the rest of the speed paintings!  I'm very curious what else you come up with. :D

Yeah, Not especially impressive- compared to your other work but still well drawn and quite beautiful in a sense...I've had to look at it several times to come up with words to describe it as whenever I move down to comment I forget that it's not incredibly detailed and in fact somewhat simple. I guess what I like about this Speed drawing of yours is that it actually seems achievable whenever I look at it unlike your other landscapes and whatnot that's generally so breath-takingly good that I get swept away that my train of thought kinda is sent into the picture so that I'm stuck staring at the picture itself for minutes without blinking...So well done!

Very nice sense of depth, the speed painting shows in the lack of sharpness, but the concepts and layers are wonderful.

For the sake of making you able to post art more often, I'm all for the speed painting exercise, but you should know I look forward to when you're finished and can make more like your "older" stuff (like from a few months back... you know, when you put outlines on things) because I preferred that style.
